Here is the first of many of your newletters and updates straight from Austin.
WOW... time got here quick for me to being working for students in District 13. The past few weeks have been filled with preparation to really embark on this journey from swearing in ceremonies to reading the 718 pages (yes, I read them all) to prepare for the meeting this week in Austin. There will be opportunities to add individuals to review the curriculum to serve on some Ad Hoc committees from District 13, so stay tuned as we need a seat at the table.
It appears that on this agenda we are focused more on CTE Curriculum, Assessments and resetting rules and committees for the full board. I will send a full recap after the meetings though, so understand the cadence I expect to use for these newsletters is brief overview of the meeting, then after the meeting and in between when there is a need to strategize for the best interest of students.
If you plan on joining tomorrow, the swearing in ceremony in Austin will be held on the 2nd floor of the Barbara Jordan Building (BJB) address is 1601 N. Congress, Ave Austin, Tx beginning at 11am. General meeting will begin at 1pm.

Meetings will go from Tuesday- Friday with most of all voting completed on Friday. We will begin at 11am on Tuesday but Wednesday-Friday will begin at 9am.
