Aaron Gigley, a 16 year old Mckinney resident has had many health issues and surgeries over the years, and has faced many challenges dealing with them. In spite of his challenges, Aaron finished a triathlon in 2011 at the age of 14 - he was the very last one to cross the finish line, was in pain, but he finished it! That sense of accomplishment, combined with wanting to help people, inspired him t
o put on this race. All proceeds from this race will go to one of three charities of Aaron's choosing - ManeGait @ www.manegait.org, Especially Needed at www.especiallyneeded.org, and the Special Olympics of TX at www.sotx.org. Aaron's goal is to get the word out to everyone and to have an unbelievable turnout of people with all abilities. We will have able bodied volunteers to help get Wheelchairs across if necessary! This is a CELEBRATION of the Strength of these kids and adults who have dealt with challenges yet continue fighting every day, and it is a THANK YOU to the parents, doctors and caretakers, some of whom have given up their lives for them.
