I am a strategic and tactical coach who has vast experiences in golf teaching, coaching and management. I spent the first portion of my career as a technical coach, earning a Golf Magazine top 100 distinction. I coached winners on every tour but I could not explain why they won or why they lost. I was missing a key ingredient to help my players experience consistent success. I began my pursuit to
find the answers. My quest for human performance forced me to look outside of my sport and I was able to find what I was seeking in some of the world’s elite athletes and coaches. I spent years observing coaches and athletes in the NFL, MLB and Olympic sport, learning what set them apart. I have had the good fortune of spending significant time in the training sessions and classrooms of the elite, learning about their traits and systems. The habits and attitudes of the elite are noticeably different as well as the way they think, train and process each performance, training session or sales call. I observed that they consistently control their thoughts under pressure and their high performance comes from consistent systems in their training. High performers in sport and in business also consistently grow and protect their self-image. The self-image is the area of comfort we each operate in professionally or personally. High performers have clear steps on growing their self-image on a daily basis.
20 years later I have developed systems that enable the athletes and business people that I coach to:
-Control their thoughts during stressful situations. This allows athletes to trust and commit to their decisions and task as opposed to over training and over trying. High performers in business are able to reach their goals in sales conversions.
-Set goals and establish the roadmap to achieve them. I have brought an Olympic goal getting model to my clients and athletes so they can set meaningful goals and stay on track in the pursuit of them.
- I take into account the personality profiles of each client that I work with. Everyone has a preference of how they communicate, perform task, and make decisions. Understanding these traits are a key component in coaching and communication.
-We utilize imprinting as a reinforcement to help the performer’s self-image to grow. We know that elite performers insulate and protect their self-image during every training and competitive opportunity. This allows for the person to grow their area of comfort in the most critical situations-whether it is an athletic competition or a business person’s crucial sales meeting.
