We had 43 youth hunters at the 2nd annual Gary Donaldson Memorial Youth Hunt. Fantastic turnout! Everyone learned gun safety, hunting etiquette, hunting with dogs, and commentators. We also learned how to field dress a pheasant! Thanks to all the parents, guides and their dogs (the real hero’s) and to our many volunteers to set birds, signing people in and lunch preparation. We could neverdo this without everyone’s help and generous donations. We look forward to seeing you next year and tell your friends!

Hosted by Henry County this event is open to any youth (17 years old and younger) that is interested in trap shooting and pheasant hunting. Due to the cost of ammo, we will provide one box (25 rounds) of 12- or 20-gauge shells to each youth participant. If anyone wants to shoot more, they will need to provide their own. An Ohio hunting license is required. Each session will begin at the Maumee Valley Sportsmen’s Club. Birds will be released in various Henry County locations. The youth will be assisted by guides and their dogs. Parents/guardians are encouraged to walk along. Lunch will be served between the two sessions, and we will raffle several guns.
