AMY’s TESTIMONY: 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I started at 280, I’m now at 125. My lowest was 116, but that’s when I was so focused on a calorie deficit, and not eating right. I really started working out consistently for almost the last 2 years, and now that I am focusing on building muscle and endurance, I try to not get anxious about the 10 pounds I gained back. I’m stronger, I have more energy, and I’m happier.
Biggest hurdle? The mental part of it. I had to focus on retraining myself to think of food as fuel for my body and the goals I wanted to meet, not as “dieting” being a punishment. I still struggle with this even now. Also, really staying focused on my “why” helped. My why is my kids and my personal health, and to do that I had to prioritize me. As a mom, this can be so hard sometimes, but if I wanted to be healthy for them and myself, I had to start taking the time to prioritize me so I could be the best version of me for them. To do this, I get up at 5 am M-F and 6 on Saturday to get my CG workouts in with some of my favorite trainers. My kids are still asleep, so no one is asking me for anything, needs me for anything, and I can focus entirely on my workout and putting my very best effort into it. Then I have quiet time afterwards, and that sets the tone for the rest of my day. Even on days I don’t feel like getting out of bed, I do, because I know how I’ll feel afterwards. I know that one hour is worth it.
