šŸ‘€ Looking for Pumpkin Patches šŸŽƒ

Autumn at the Arboretum
One of the most sought out events of the year, the Dallas Arboretum hosts the largest pumpkin patch in the region. This year’s theme, ā€œA Fall Fairy Taleā€ will feature Cinderella’s Carriage along with a Pumpkin Village and maze for kids to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the pumpkin decorating and music on select dates.

St. James Pumpkin Patch
Returning for its 25th Annual Pumpkin Patch, St. James Episcopal Church partners with Southwest-based farmers who harvest pumpkins of all shapes and size. Many families come together to purchase pumpkins, take family photos, including those with 4 paws.

Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch
From October 1st to October 31st, you can find hundreds of pumpkins at Double Oak Ranch. There are hayrides, great food, and hay bale mazes. Each season also features cartoon character cutouts for more photo ops.

Blase Family Farm (Rockwall)
Located the Blase Family Farm, this blueberry farm is transformed into a pumpkin patch for the fall. Blueberry picking is closed for the year, but you can find a petting zoo, go on a hayride, and have plenty of picture opportunities though their wooded walking trail. Pumpkins and straw bales are available for sale.

Preston Trail Farms (Gunter)
Gunter—home of Preston Trail Farms and of the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. Preston Trail Farms is open year-round and becomes a popular destination in the fall for North Texans and Oklahoma residents. There are hayrides, 6-foot-tall hay maze, petting farms, and gift shop. If you want the ā€œlife on the farm experienceā€ you can’t miss out on this place!

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze
Families around Tarrant County come together every October to visit Hall’s Pumpkin Farm. Their two-acre of 9ft. tall corn stalks makes this corn maze one of the most challenging in the region. You’ll never know where the twist and turns take you. Hayrides are provided for all in the family. This centered location is nestled between Dallas and Fort Worth, making it accessible to all.

Pumpkins on the Prairie
Located on Main Street in Frisco, Pumpkins on the Prairie has more than just pumpkins. There is fun for all in the family, including hayrides, face painting, bounce house, and a fall festival. On Sunday, October 9th fur friends are invited for a blessing of the animals and for photo ops around the pumpkin patch (but not inside).

Dallas’ Favorite Fall TraditionšŸ‚šŸšŸŽƒ

The 17th annual Autumn at the Arboretum, presented by Reliant, is upon us and we are excited to once again share 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash, hailing from THE pumpkin capital of Texas, Floydada, throughout the garden. This year’s theme ā€˜A Fall Fairy Tale’ features the return of Cinderella’s Carriage, along with themed pumpkin houses that make up the acclaimed Pumpkin Village.

The only thing you can't control is…
—the past.

—the future.

—the weather.

—how other people act or react to you.

But the rest is yours to control. How do you want your life to look? What do you want it to be like? Do you have a vision for yourself, or are you just going through the motions until something happens?

Inflation is Rising – Should I Still Buy a Home?

World events and government spending has led to soaring inflation. The Federal Reserve has only one tool in its arsenal to curb and reduce this trend – raising interest rates. While contemporary home buyers are accustomed to interest rates in the 2-4%, older homeowners remember being excited to get one as low as 8%. As yet, we have no indication such a drastic increase is necessary, home mortgage interest rates are creeping up and potential home buyers may be asking if they should still try to buy a home. One of the first things to consider is affordability. A higher interest rate will impact the amount of the loan each buyer can qualify for, potentially reducing their spending power. Yet, home prices are also beginning to soften, so it’s possible that this correction will reduce any possible impact from rising rates. Secondly, home ownership has been a strong hedge against inflation historically. Buying a home locks in the cost of the largest budgetary portion of your expenses – your housing cost. As the cost of living continues to increase, rents will also rise, continuing to add pressure to an already strained household budget. Finally, things change. Recessions do not last, home prices eventually rise, and home mortgages can be refinanced. Most homeowners move every 5-7 years and so potential home buyers should plan for this timeframe when making decisions. Is this still the right time to buy a home? Inflation does have an effect, but it does not necessarily mean that one needs to hold off on a good home purchase.
