The Women’s Southern Golf Association (WSGA) has had a rich tradition of hosting an Amateur Championship since 1911. Some of our past Champions have gone on to
celebrate professional golf careers. Other past champions have continued to maintain their amateur status and compete at the highest level. The WSGA will be celebrating the
110th Amateur Championship June 1-3, 2026, at Savannah Golf Club in Savannah, GA.

After conducting the 109th Championship using a match play format, the WSGA will be changing the format for the Amateur Championship to a 54-hole stroke play format for the 2026 Championship. After much deliberation, the board voted to make this change effective with our 2026 Championship. The factors that weighed heavily in this decision were how difficult it is for players and families to commit to a week-long event, player travel expenses, and the increasing difficulty securing premium golf facilities to host a week-long event. We understand that players
do typically love match play, so this was a difficult decision to change our format after 109 Championships.
