First things first...after quite the dismal year this season, leading up to last weekends cancellation, we were standing at 2 completed races for the series this year. This year has unfortunantely been one for the ages against Mother Nature, and many racers and tracks have been affected by the many cancellations throughout the year.
With that being said, we attempted to shoot for a double feature weekend the last 2 races in order to get the karts you guys have built to race in our series, on the track. Every way we have tried to combine shows, and get these shows in has backfired and caused many logistical issues behind the scenes. Our friends to the west have endured the same.
As it stands, we have one date left on our calendar, which is Midvale. For this, we are going to do a double feature event for this, to try and salvage 5 possible points days to count towards a championship.
This also presented an issue with the 3 race mini-series that was put together thanks to Jeff at Rage Karts.
Here is the full transparency as it lays. We aimed to give a 3 race series within Midvale. Midvale 1 rained out after the heat race. We attempted to make it up at Midvale 2. Midvale 2 has cancelled. We have attempted several make ups at a later date, and none of them have worked to our favor.
What we are moving forward to do is:
Midvale 1 will be paid out per the feature lineup, before the karts who elected to take the tail took that challenge.
Midvale 2 and Midvale 3 will be run as double features. This show also offers a raindate. If we can not get ALL the features in, we will not have a champion based off essentially 2.5 races for the 2026 season. If we do get all 5 points paying features in, there will be a 1 race drop towards the championship.
For the "Mini-Series", we will still be doing this. I feel the only honest and fair way to kick this back is...it has become a best 2 of 3 race series. The teams that were not able to make it on an 80% chance of rain, will not have a drop. The drivers who were involved with Midvale 1 will be able to use a drop of one of those 3.
There were many variants to look at, and many different scenarios to look at, every single one had pro's and cons. This was the fairest way we could find to be able to be a positive outcome for everyone.
Moving forward, there will be an option for indoor racing for us, as I know some have asked. It was mixed at Fort Wayne last year, and proved to be a decent mixture, and still may need some slight tweaks, it will be something that we need to look at event by event basis, so please allow time for those tweaks.
We are also going attempt to looking at more facilities for next years planning in the weeks to come.
Again, thank you all for your understanding during this difficult season, and we hope to see you at Midvale later in September.
