The tea ceremony is a beautiful opportunity to be present and appreciate the moment. Nothing in the tea room is unimportant. Every movement is performed with intention and precision, following a clearly established procedure set by Sen no Rikyu in the 16th century.
The tea ceremony is a kata from the heart, with the host set on the enjoyment and satisfaction of their guests through the 4 main principles of tea: Wa, Ke, Sei, and Jaku, also known as harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.
