American Martial Arts Academy

American Martial Arts Academy Tang Soo Do, Kickboxing, Self Defense, for all ages. We are a professionally run martial arts academy, with a focus on practical self-defense.

We offer classes for young children, teens, and adults. We offer classes in Tang Soo Do (sometimes referred to as Korean karate) and American Kickboxing. Our family Tang Soo Do class is appropriate for all ages, and our adult Tang Soo Do class will be returning shortly. Kickboxing is open to anyone age 16 and up. We share our location with Healthlinks Training Center, so why not get your CPR certification renewed when you stop by?

It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of one of our members. First Degree Black Belt Stephen Scott passed away yesterday on February 16th, 2026.

Steve was a staple at our academy for about 8 years. He trained consistently and always gave 100% on the mats. He never let anything keep him down. Even after some health complications came up he continued to train and always tried his best. He always found a way to attend every class he could, and served as an inspiration.

We will share the memories we made on the mats Steve.

We are partnering up with Kickmasters Karate to start a food drive to benefit the Western Maryland Foodbank. Canned goods can be donated at either of our facilities. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 5th. For any questions please reach out to us.
