Great week at The House Mountain show in Lexington VA!

Nokomis Farm Foundation’s Blackberry Hill won Reserve Champion Hunter against a very competitive field.

I’m so proud of him and such a fun week ! 💙🏆

Through the ears of the horse… welcome to Nokomis Farm. 🌿

One of my favorite places to ride, with wide open spaces, beautiful grass and sand arenas, endless trails, and room for horses to truly be horses. From our spacious 14x14 stalls and open barns to the acres of turnout, every detail is designed with horse welfare in mind.

We even grow our own hay and alfalfa right here on the farm. 💚

You’ve met me, and you’ve met my dogs… now meet my horse! ✨

This is Tatabra Hello Kitty, aka Kitty. 🐈 💕

Imported from Argentina in October 2022 she’s been the best teammate! We’ve done so much together, and she’s taught me more than I could have imagined along the way.

Love this more and excited for what’s to come! 💚

Nothing worthwhile is built alone or overnight.

One of the things I’ve loved most about participating in the Retired Racehorse Project has been looking back and seeing just how much progress can happen over time. Not just with riders, but with the horses too. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching things finally click and seeing confidence, understanding, and partnership come together.

Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of learning from incredible mentors who have helped shape this journey. I’m excited to share more about it soon.

Always learning. Always growing. ✨

Nokomis Farm Foundation, my new home base. 💚 I am so grateful to be here, but did you know the history?

Founded by Diana Dodge, this special place has a rich history rooted in horsemanship and education. Diana was always generous with her knowledge and support, and I’m grateful for the impact she had on my own journey.

Pictured with Diana is Nancy Peterson, who served as Director of Riding at Hollins University for more than 20 years.

Stay tuned as I share more about the history and legacy of Nokomis Farm Foundation! 🔜 👀

Hi, I’m Kamerra 👋🏾

Director of Equine Programs at Nokomis Farm Foundation in Orange, Virginia.

I’ve spent years in the equestrian industry as a trainer, clinician, and collegiate coach, helping horses and riders build confidence, partnership, and a little grit along the way.

A few things about me:

☕ I’m always up for coffee: hot, iced, or a soy chai tea latte.

🐴 Horses have taken me all over the country and introduced me to some incredible people.

I love to laugh and firmly believe every barn day comes with a story.

When I’m not at the barn, you’ll usually find me spending time with friends, planning my next adventure, or cheering on my students from the rail.

Let’s meet!! I’ll be hosting clinics at Nokomis farms each month, next one is July 3! Interested? Send me a message!

Nokomis Farm is home to legendary USHJA Hall of Fame Diana Dodge. Grateful to pay homage to her legacy. ✨

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give any student is this: never stop learning.

More importantly, don’t limit yourself to learning only from people within your own discipline. Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned throughout my career have come from stepping outside my comfort zone and listening to horsemen and women whose backgrounds looked completely different from my own. ✨

One of the greatest things about the horse industry is the people you meet along the way. I’ve learned from professionals in Western, Dressage, Saddle Seat, Driving, breed disciplines, and beyond. A good horseman is a good horseman.

Swipe through for a few of my favorite moments spent learning from some incredible horsemen and horsewomen over the years. Every conversation, clinic, and opportunity to listen has helped shape the horsewoman and coach I am today. 🌟
