What an incredible Saturday for the Alabama a's 2k16 Softball Team!
These girls came together and put in the work all day long, finishing pool play as the #1 seed in their bracket. Their outstanding performance earned them a first-round bye heading into bracket play.
After a tough loss in their first bracket game, these athletes showed exactly what Alabama a's softball is all about—heart, determination, and resilience. Instead of hanging their heads, they dug deep, fought back, and earned their spot in the championship game.
What makes this championship even more special is that these girls were still battling on the field past midnight and into Father's Day morning. While most people were asleep, these athletes were giving everything they had, fighting for every out, every run, and every opportunity to keep playing.
Both of their final two games went into International Tie Breakers, and the Alabama a's rose to the occasion. They won the first game by 5 runs and then battled through an intense Championship Game, winning by 1 run to bring home the title!
These girls showed incredible toughness, determination, and heart. They never quit, they never gave up on each other, and they proved that champions are made in moments when things get tough.💛🖤. Way to go girls!
