The CVA Red Legs was built to be an alternative to other, more costly options to expose our local players to a higher level of baseball, try to instill life lessons and how to play the game “the right way”, and to support our local rec league in keeping players in that league. As we looked to our next steps (after the small field), CVA Red Legs joined CORE Baseball, primarily because of how they teach the game with a focus on their values - Commitment, Ownership, Respect, and Effort.
We became a part of the CORE family. Core Red Legs.
Last week, while together as a team in Cooperstown, our Red Legs experienced the loss of a teammate and friend, #14 Weston Herndon. We know Weston is in a better place and we are thankful that we were together to support and love on each other. We played the remainder of our games in Cooperstown with our #14 jersey hung in love in our dugouts.
This weekend, the Core Red Legs have continued to feel the love and support of the other Core teams. Each team playing has their own #14 hanging in their dugout in a show of respect, love, and solidarity. While those players may have never met Weston, the story of our #14 has been shared with them and his impact has been felt.
Thank you, Core Baseball, for the support and love for the Red Legs and our #14. Weston’s Warriors
