They say 'all good things must come to an end' and tonight our state playoff run ends in the semifinals after a hard-fought and well-played game between two very good soccer teams.

While the outcome didn't go our way tonight, we couldn't be more proud of this special group who delivered an unforgettable 2025 season!

⚽ Best overall record for Cromwell Soccer in over a decade (10-3-3)

⚽ Most goals scored (54) by a Cromwell team in at least 15 years (CIAC website has data back to 2011 only) and best goal differential (+34) in that same span

⚽ First Shoreline Conference playoff win in more than 7 years with the epic 4-3 come-from-behind win for the ages vs East Hampton in front of our home fans

⚽ And, a DEEP run in this year's CIAC State Tournament that saw the Panthers earn 3 shutout victories en route to advancing to the CIAC Class S 'Final Four'.

A special shout-out to our seniors: captains Nick Gorski and Julian Tuminski along with Andrew Mercieri, Matthew Kowalski, Jacob Shehata, and Dante Marfella, thank you for all you have meant to this program for 4 years, you will be missed!! ❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤

While this chapter closes, the story is far from over with a strong core of juniors and underclassmen returning, and after three straight years of progression in the state tournament — First Round (2023), Quarterfinals (2024), and now Semifinals (2025) — the future is bright for Cromwell Soccer.

One last time for 2025... Go Panthers!! ❤️⚽️🐾🖤

‼️ CROMELL TAKES DOWN TOP SEED CANTON IN OVERTIME TO ADVANCE TO THE STATE SEMIFINALS ‼️

Our season continues as Cromwell punched their ticket to the state semifinals in a thriller tonight vs #1 seed Canton by scoring in double overtime to earn the 1-0 WIN. Both teams battled hard, created chances, and left it all on the field but it was Cromwell who took control of the game in OT creating several chances and ultimately breaking through on a goal by sophomore Francesco Chiurillo set up by senior Nick Gorski to send the traveling supporters into a frenzy!!

Cromwell extends its playoff clean-sheet streak to three games and will next face Somers (who has also kept three clean-sheets in the State Tournament). Cromwell held the 2025 ECC Division II Champion St. Bernard scoreless while finding the back of the net 4 times and dominating start to finish with St. Bernard having no answers for the boys' passing, possession, build up, and defense. Congratulations to the players and coaches on well-earned trip to the State Quarterfinals!

‼️ CROMELL WINS - ADVANCES TO QUARTERFINALS ‼️ Cromwell notched their second clean sheet of the playoffs defeating ECC Division II Champion St. Bernard 4-0 at CHS tonight! Cromwell dominated start to finish with clinical passing, possession, and build up while St. Bernard had no answers for our suffocating defense and keeper. Great soccer all around by the Panthers!!

Goals were scored by junior Brodie Day, junior Liam Glynn, junior Ben Burdick, and sophomore Francesco Chiurillo.

The Panthers will next face #1 seed Canton High on Thursday in the Class S State Quarterfinal at 6pm.
