🏁 BSapp Racing Team Race Report: 5th Annual Saratoga Family Reunion 🏁

The 5th Annual Saratoga Family Reunion at Flowood RC is in the books, and Team BSapp is bringing home some serious hardware! Taking on three separate divisions—including two grueling 20-minute nitro endurance mains—was an absolute marathon, but the hard work paid off.

🏆 The Results

👧 Halie Sapp — Future Pros
• Qualifiers: Kept a solid lock on the front of the pack with consecutive 2nd-place finishes.
• A-Main: Showed incredible composure in the big show to finish 2nd overall on the podium! (Fast lap: 32.003)

👦 Duane Sapp — The Triple-Class Iron Man Run
• 1/8 Sportsman Nitro Truggy: 🥇 1st PLACE CLASS WINNER! Fought through a chaotic combined Open/Sportsman grid in a tough 20-minute A-Main to cross the line 5th overall on the track and lock down the Sportsman victory! (Fast lap: 29.129)
• 1/8 Sportsman Nitro Buggy: Put in another brutal 20-minute shift, driving a smart, tactical race to secure a strong 4th place overall finish! (Fast lap: 29.666)
• 1/8 +40 E-Buggy: Took 2nd in the B-Main to earn a well-deserved bump-up into the big show, fighting traffic from the 10th spot to finish 8th overall.

🤝 Huge Shoutout to the Pit Crew!
Running two nitro classes is a true team sport, and we couldn't have done it without the absolute best crew in the facility. A massive thank you to Halie and our Team Manager Stefanie for completely killing it in the hot pits! 🔥

Their lightning-fast stops and flawless fueling kept the engines screaming on the track through both of those 20-minute mains without missing a single beat. These trophies belong to the whole team.

On to the next one! 🏎️💨

Excited to finally get my hands on the Kyosho MP1OT.🏎️💨💨
I picked it up about a week ago and already got to race it last weekend. Now for the dreaded part: cleanup. Except, this thing is an absolute breeze to tear down!
Removing the electronics tray takes just 5 screws, the motor takes 5, and the fuel tank takes only 2. The whole thing comes apart in under five minutes.
Cleaning has never been this easy! 🙌

Race Report – Team BSAPP 🏁

Definitely a learning day for Duane with some tuning struggles, but that’s all part of the grind and getting faster every race.

Huge shoutout to our youngest team member, Halie! She wasn’t running nitro, but had a tough break with her ESC coming loose and the car shutting off multiple times. She kept her composure, stayed focused, and pushed through the setbacks like a champ.

And it paid off—Halie secured her first-ever TQ AND brought home 1st place! 🔥🏆

Super proud of the grit and determination today. We’ll keep dialing things in and come back even stronger next race.

The "Pit Boss" Executive Summary: Stef
Role: Pit Commander & Chaos Control

Location: B&T RC Raceway

The Day in a Nutshell:
While the drivers were busy breaking things, Stef was busy fixing the vibe. She kept the LiPos charged, the parts organized, and most importantly—the drivers in line.

Key Accomplishments:
• Tactical Logistics: Kept the supplies 100% stocked so the "broken dreams" had a fighting chance.
• Driver Discipline: Successfully kept the team off the stands when they needed a "time out" (or a reality check).
• Glitch Management: Provided the emotional support needed to survive the great "Phantom Lap" crisis.

Final Verdict: Duane and the crew provide the speed; Stef provides the sanity. Without her, the pits would just be an expensive pile of plastic and confusion.

The "Technically On The Podium" Short Report:

Duane Sapp

Slash Class: The Computer vs. Duane
Duane was so fast the timing system literally couldn't keep up. After the computer tried to "rob" him of a lap, a quick manual override confirmed the truth: 3rd Place Podium. Moral of the story? Never trust a machine when Duane is wheeling.

Nitro Truck: The Invisible Race
Duane’s Nitro Truck decided to retire early... like, before the race started. It stayed in the pits as a very expensive paperweight. 0 laps, 0 starts, 100% emotional damage.

The Hardware Haul:
• Slash: 3rd (After defeating the glitch)
• Mini Truggy: 2nd (The "Small But Mighty" Award)
• Nitro Truck: DNF (Broken dreams and empty fuel tanks)
Final Verdict: 2 Podiums, 1 Glitch, and 1 Broken Truck. A standard Weekend at B&T!

Race Report: The Halie Sapp Experience
Event: Battle at B&T R/C Raceway
Driver: Halie Sapp
Class: Novice A-Main

Status: Certified Track Legend
The Race Breakdown: Speed, Air, and "Oops"
Halie came into the Novice A-Main like a woman on a mission. After solid qualifying rounds where she consistently held her own, it was time for the big dance.

The start was clean, the nerves were high, and then... The Double. In what can only be described as a "freestyle aerial interpretative dance," Halie had a massive mess-up on the first double. We aren't saying she tried to orbit the moon, but the local air traffic control was briefly concerned. However, instead of folding, she put on a masterclass in the "Novice Charge." She spent the next seven minutes picking off ground like a heat-seeking missile, eventually securing a rock-solid 5th place finish with 11 laps on the board.

The Iron Woman Award: Dual-Classing
While most drivers were sitting in the pits complaining about tire compound or "glitchy servos," Halie was out-working the entire facility.
Not only was she wheeling her own car, but she also served as the Permanent Resident Turn Marshal. She spent the entire day sprinting across the red clay to rescue flipped trucks, basically getting her 10,000 steps in by 10:00 AM.

The "Goble" Special

As if marshaling for one person wasn’t enough, Halie decided to pick up the slack for Michael Goble. Every time Michael’s spot needed coverage, Halie was there—proving that she has more stamina than a 6000mAh LiPo battery. Rumor has it Michael now owes her enough snacks to fill a pit bag.

Final Stats
• Main Event Finish: 5th Place (The "Comeback Queen" Award)
• Miles Ran Marshaling: 14.2 (Estimated)
• Michael Goble’s Debt to Halie: Infinite
• Overall Performance: Absolute Rockstar
Great job, Halie! You drove like a pro and worked the track harder than anyone else. Just... maybe keep both wheels on the dirt for the first jump next time?

🏁 Battle at B&T 2026: Day 1 & 2 Survival Report 🏁
Well, the dust has settled on qualifying, and if you aren’t covered in dirt and smelling like nitro fuel, did you even really race? Here’s the breakdown of how the team is holding up at the Battle at B&T.

🛠 The "Smooth" Friday Start
Friday was actually... dare I say, productive? We got the pits set up, the rigs were dialed, and we even managed to get some solid practice laps in. Halie actually managed to escape work early to get some wheel time, which is basically a racing miracle.

🌪 Saturday: The "Five-Class" Chaos
Today, I decided that common sense was optional and signed up for five classes:

• 2wd Short Course Mod
• Nitro Buggy
• Nitro Truggy
• Mini Truggy
• Traxxas 4x4

Between those and Halie hitting the track for her class, I haven't sat down since the sun came up.

⚡ The "Team Manager" Award
Qualifying went pretty well overall, but we did have a minor... "electrical event." Our illustrious Team Manager—the one who supposedly makes the wheels turn around here—decided to test the laws of physics by plugging a battery in backward.

The Result: A spectacular display of fried wires, a toasted ESC, and enough "magic smoke" to signal a new Pope. 🌬️💨

🏆 The MVP: Hank Hendrix
Big shoutout to Hank Hendrix for putting in the work today! Not only was he wheeling the Gas Truck and 4x4 Mod SCT, but he was also the backbone of the pits. Between pitting for all my Nitro runs and putting in some serious miles turn-marshalling for the team, the man deserves a trophy just for the cardio.

The Grid is Set. The mains are tomorrow. The batteries are (hopefully) being plugged in the right way tonight.

Let's go racing! 🏎️💨

🏁 BSAPP Race Team Report: Throttle Therapy at Saratoga-Flowood RC 🏁

What an incredible weekend of dirt, speed, and "Throttle Therapy" in Magee, MS! The team pushed hard, found the podium, and enjoyed some much-needed time at the track.

✨ Beyond the Racing
The best part of the weekend wasn't just the lap times—it was the company! We had a fantastic time catching up with a second cousin who drove in from a nearby town to visit. It had been years since we last saw each other, and having family trackside made the event truly special. Family and RC racing—it doesn’t get much better than that!

🏆 Halie Sapp: Future Pros A-Main
Halie put on a clinic in consistency! After a strong P2 in qualifying, she drove a smart, focused race to secure a spot on the box.
• Result: 3rd Place 🥉
• Stats: 13 Laps | 7:12.548
• Fastest Lap: 28.892
Halie continues to prove she has the composure to run with the best in the Future Pros!

💪 Duane Sapp: The Double-Duty Grind
Duane was an absolute ironman this weekend, jumping between Nitro and Electric and showing speed in both.

• 1/8 Sportsman Nitro Buggy: A grueling 20-minute A-Main battle! Duane finished a strong 5th, laying down one of the fastest laps of the race at 22.852.

• 1/8 +40 E-Buggy: After a hard-fought B-Main, Duane grabbed the Bump-Up to the A-Main! He finished 7th overall in a stacked field of veterans, proving he’s got the pace to climb the ladder.

Looking Ahead
We’re leaving Saratoga-Flowood with some hardware, great memories, and a list of things to prep for the next one. Huge thanks to the track crew for a killer layout!
