Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2026 Texas Mini Cup season are complete! From age 6 all the way to 57 were on the fun and unique Amarillo track in the 100 + degree heat, pushing themselves on bikes that ranged from little CRF50’s all the way up to a KTM RC390. This weekend was another MotoAmerica Regional Qualifier for the kids. Texas/OK will now have the largest amount of kids ever representing at the National Final in a couple of weeks in Wisconsin (streamed on MotoAmerica Live Plus). This was the reason I started this series. My dream was to see the kids from our region compete at the National level for podiums and Championships. The strategy is working and the future is bright.
There are so many people to thank for making this weekend happen:
-Racers and their parents
-Title Sponsor Florencio Moreno IV, Attorney at Law
-Dunlop and MotoAmerica
-Jeff Offutt, owner of Amarillo Motorsports Park, and his entire team
-Official KYT Helmet Americas
-Alonzo Contreras
-Brian Flynn with Star GP Academy
-CMRA Inc
-Cheryl, Tesla, and Chaz Johnson and Erlynn Corpuz
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me continue with this project. It is not easy and has a lot of headwinds. I could not do this without the volunteers, participation and financial support of those that believe in what we’re trying to do. Thank you 🙏.
Every time I get discouraged, I watch these kids push hard in tough conditions, battle, set new PB lap times, hear the parents screaming with excitement for those PBs (no matter where they finish), and then see everyone laughing and playing together in the pits. It reminds me why we do this. It makes it all worth it and fills me with pride.
We still have a lot of work to do, but the groundwork has been laid.
