This past weekend CBG Baseball had our 14u and 11u take their talents to Temple. Neither got the results they wanted Saturday but they reset and came back on Sunday to show what we’ve become accustomed to. 14u came out champions with the 11u having to run the gauntlet and finishing runner up to a great team. Couldn’t be more proud of the two groups of young men.
Greater than any ring was the numerous compliments from umpires and opposing coaches on the attitudes and effort of the boys!
Also as so often is the case, with team accomplishments comes individual accolades. HE’s BAAAACCKKK!!!! This kid here hasn’t seen the mound in almost a year and this past weekend we got a little short handed because of injury and illness and he stepped on the hill and didn’t miss a beat. Pitching stat line for the weekend for this young man goes as follows…
21 batters faced, 66 pitches over 6 innings, allowed only 2 hits, 0 earned runs, 0 walks, and 5 punch outs. All that while also leading the team offensively in runs scored with 9. Have yourself a weekend kid and congrats to Peyton McNeely for tournament MVP honors!!!!
