The Knicks are not up 2-0 by accident.
They are winning the grown-up possessions.
Game 1 was the warning shot.
Game 2 was the theft.
Game 3 is the Garden getting 27 years of Finals noise back all at once.
Episode 73 is out now.

The Knicks are two wins away from a championship.
I don’t know how to act because I’ve spent my whole life preparing for the pain, not the parade.
Brunson is closing.
KAT is changing the series.
Hart is grabbing everything.
The Garden gets the Finals.
Job’s not finished.
But man.
It is right there.

The Knicks are four wins away from changing the story.
First Finals since 1999. First title chance since 1973. Same Spurs matchup, different Knicks team.
Wemby is terrifying. Castle is real. San Antonio belongs here.
But the Knicks have answers.
Brunson can solve the series. KAT can punish the matchups. OG can make Wemby work. Hart can turn disrespect into chaos. Mitch can steal possessions. Shamet can stretch the floor. And this city has completely fallen in love with this team.
Good. Keep doubting them.
Knicks in six.

Myles Garrett to the Rams is the kind of move that makes January football more fun.
The Rams already have the offense to stay in games. Now they have a defensive closer who can wreck a third down, flip a drive, and turn a playoff game into a pass-rush movie.
That is the part I’m excited for. Not just the trade package. Not just the picks. The idea of finally seeing Garrett in playoff games that match his talent.

Odell Beckham Jr. returning to the Giants is not about teaching Jaxson Dart how to play quarterback.
But Malik Nabers? That part is interesting.
Odell knows exactly what it is like to become a superstar receiver in New York. He knows how fast the city loves you, how fast the headlines come, and how every sideline moment, quote, outfit, and celebration can become a full conversation.
If he can help Nabers understand that life, not in a corny mentor way, but in a real “here’s what I learned” way, that could actually be useful.

Episode 71 of Rice on the Radio is live.
This one was supposed to come out earlier, but the NFL handed us the perfect timing.
A.J. Brown is headed to the Patriots, giving Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel a true No. 1 receiver. Myles Garrett is headed to the Rams, because Los Angeles apparently looked at the rest of the NFC and decided subtlety was overrated. Odell Beckham Jr. is back with the Giants, which is fun, nostalgic, and absolutely not something we should confuse with 2016 walking through the door.
I also get into Malik Nabers’ injury concern, Jaxson Dart needing to be smart with his toughness, and the Jets trying to prove this is a real foundation under Aaron Glenn and Frank Reich.
Episode 71: A.J. Brown to New England, Myles Garrett to L.A., and NFL Offseason Chaos

NY Baseball Check-In: Yankees Get Gerrit Cole Back, Mets Face Deadline Questions
The Yankees are dealing with contender problems. Gerrit Cole is back, Aaron Judge is in a slump that feels bigger because he’s Aaron Judge, Ben Rice is forcing real lineup decisions, and the Rays are putting pressure on the AL East race.
The Mets are dealing with construction problems. The record still gives fans a little 2024 flashback hope, but the roster feels messy, the lineup is not connecting, the leadership questions are getting louder, and the trade deadline may force some uncomfortable honesty.
Also got into Yordan Alvarez rumors, Tarik Skubal as a possible deadline prize, the Astros potentially becoming sellers, and how MLB’s looming CBA/salary cap fight could change the way teams think about bad contracts.
The theme: the cost of pretending.
Episode 70 is up now.

The Knicks didn’t just win their series.
They closed every one of them like they were trying to make a point.
Beat Atlanta by 51.
Beat Philly by 30.
Beat Cleveland by 37.
First team in NBA history to win three closeout games by 20+ in the same postseason, and they actually won all three by 30+.
That’s not a cute run. That’s killer instinct.

The Knicks are not stumbling into the NBA Finals.
They beat Atlanta by 51 to close that series. They beat Philly by 30 to close that series. They beat Cleveland by 37 to close the Eastern Conference Finals.
That makes them the first team in NBA history to win three closeout games by 20+ points in the same postseason, and the funny part is they won all three by 30+.
This team has been slamming the door and leaving dents in the frame.

The Knicks are back in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
I was 8 years old.
Rick Brunson was on that Knicks team. Jalen Brunson was running around in diapers.
Now Jalen Brunson is the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, his father is standing behind him, and the Knicks are four wins away from a championship.
This wasn’t just a sweep. This was a full-circle New York sports moment.
