My fantasy draft philosophy is pretty simple:
Build the foundation early. Chase upside later.
I don’t need my second-round pick to require five different things to go right. Give me volume, a clear role and somebody I trust in my lineup.
Once we get deeper?
Now I’m willing to take some swings.
Because a ninth-round miss shouldn’t ruin your season. Missing badly on three of your first four picks absolutely can.
Early rounds: don’t lose your draft. Later rounds: try to win it.

Don’t panic during runs.
One of the biggest mistakes fantasy managers make on draft day is assuming that a positional run means they have to follow the crowd.
Sometimes you should jump in.�Sometimes you absolutely should not.
The key is knowing your tiers, understanding the drop-off, and recognizing when everybody else panicking is actually creating value for you somewhere else.

ADP is one of the best tools in fantasy football.
But it’s a guide, not a rule.
If you’ve done the homework, you love the player, and you know he probably isn’t making it back to your next pick… take him.
Nobody in Week 12 cares that FantasyPros said you drafted him 10 picks too early if he’s helping you win.

In this episode I break my draft philosophy down into three things:
Do your homework. Read the room. Build your team.
We get into mock drafting, ADP, player tiers, positional runs, reading the rosters around you, roster construction, when reaching is actually justified, and why the goal isn’t to build the prettiest team on draft night.
Fantasy football is forecasting. You’re going to get picks wrong.
The goal is to make informed decisions more often than the person sitting across from you.

ADP is basically the stock market.
That’s one of the biggest things I’m watching right now in fantasy football.
A guy gets camp hype, people start talking, more people draft him, the ADP rises — and eventually the player you liked at one price becomes a completely different decision at another.
That’s the point of this clip:
You can like the player and still hate the price.

Make the Giants look like the Giants again.
That’s the Year 1 mandate for John Harbaugh.
It doesn’t have to mean 11 wins or a division title immediately. But the Giants should look prepared when the ball is kicked off. They should manage situations correctly, play physical football and stop constantly beating themselves.
For too long, there have been Sundays where it looked like the game started before somebody told them it did.
That has to change.
