Congratulations, Buccs!
Five Buccs. One unforgettable experience.
The OHSAA State Track & Field Championships marked the culmination of an incredible season for five Covington athletes who represented Bucc Nation on Ohio’s biggest stage.
Day’Lynn Garrett capped off a historic career by earning a 5th-place state finish in the 300-meter hurdles and qualifying for the finals in the 110-meter hurdles. He leaves Covington as a three-time state medalist and school record holder in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, and long jump.
Filip McMaken competed in the high jump and was also a key member of both state-qualifying relay teams in his first trip to the state meet.
The relay teams of Caylor Eastman, Trent Reynolds, Jordan Miller, Day’Lynn Garrett, and Filip McMaken proudly represented Covington in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays, competing against the best athletes in Ohio. The 4x200 team finished just fractions of a second off the school record, showcasing the talent and determination of this group.
Congratulations to Day’Lynn, Filip, Caylor, Trent, and Jordan on an outstanding year and for representing Covington with excellence at the state meet. We couldn’t be more proud!
