“The Simple Truth”

““If you love me, obey my commandments.”

We put so much unnecessary pressure on ourselves and others by making unnecessary things a priority. We then begin bad habits by making excuses why we can’t do the things that we deem important. We hurriedly make these decisions Instead of listening to the words of Jesus and obeying what He says we must do. The Bible says; ““Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭36‬-‭40‬ ‭
Im not the brightest guy in the world and there’s so much I don’t understand but I listen very carefully to every word that I read in the Bible. When Jesus tells us ““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”, I listen. Listening and obeying His words put into perspective what is important and necessary in our lives. Don’t let your pride and ego
Get in the way of hearing the simple truth…“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!”

“Only G-d Knows”

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬ ‭
We need to understand that we are all going through a process and part of it is knowing it’s ok that we are not ok. That understanding will help us turn to the one who is always right and will never fail. I’ve learned something valuable in my walk, only G-d knows and He is the One we are accountable to. The Bible says; “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭
I’ve learned a long time ago, there’s a way that looks good and then there’s what works. G-d’s way and His directions are what always works . He’s the only one that knew the pathway was there in the Red Sea and it’s the same with your life, only G-d knows…“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

“Jesus Jesus Jesus”

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

What is it that sets us apart from everything else? What is it that makes us Holy as He is Holy? What is it that makes us successful, victorious, and more than conquers? These are just a few questions that we not only need to know the answers to, but even more importantly, we need to stay focused on as well. The answer is Jesus, now, tomorrow and forevermore. The Bible says; “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭
When I look at the world today, I see so many people, Christians, who are searching for answers we should already know. Responding with worldly concern instead of the confidence, strength and courage we should have. I’ve learned that there’s nothing wrong with going back to the beginning, where I didn’t know anything, and just listen to the Word again…““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”

“G-d Knows”

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ ‭
I have been in so many different situations that not only did I not know what to do or expect but I had no idea why I was there. When I have found myself in such situations I have learned to wait and trust in G-d with all my heart. We need to remember that the situation doesn’t define us but rather the response we give. We can choose to live in the spirit or walk in the flesh. The Bible says; “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭13‬ ‭
We are called to no longer view things from a humanly point of view but G-d’s. There will be so many things that we don’t understand but don’t let that discourage you G-d has a unique powerful way of showing you the how and why…“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””

“Surrounded by G-d’s Love”

“Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

I’ve always been that person that runs into the fire when everyone else is running out. I want to fix the problem when everyone else is ready to give up. What happens is I tend to forget the most important thing. Slowing down and listening, walk instead of run, pace myself instead of burning out quickly. Communication with G-d is so important. It’s part of a 2 way street, it includes listening to Him when he tells us not to go headfirst into the flames. The Bible says; “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭21‬ ‭
Yesterday in my second interview, for a job I really want, I was asked a great question: what would I do in the first 30 days? Right away I jumped into Mike mode wanting to run in and fix everything, instead of listening to all the concerns first. Listening is a vital key, it brings life to communication. Stopping and Listening in the moments where we want to jump will be the difference in acting recklessly and walking into situations with G-D …“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.”

“Change Starts with Us”

“One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭1‬
As I walk into work I always take a look around to see where can I make the biggest impact today. Unfortunately, there’s only so much I can do. Instead of being part of a team everyone looks at the mess like it’s not their job.. It’s kinda like what the Pharisees and Sadducees were doing to Jesus, demanding something instead of doing something. The Bible say; “But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.””
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭
This doesn’t mean to be perfect but to be set apart from the world and consecrated to G-d. Remembering to reflect His character in all our daily conduct. We can make a difference in the lives around us by making a difference in ourselves first. Instead of expecting a change or that someone else will do it…change starts with us. “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

“Darkness is the Absence of Light”

““So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭14‬ ‭
We need to understand the Biblical meaning of “wholeheartedly”, is totally dedicating one’s entire being—heart, soul, mind, and strength—to God. This is without reservation, division, or half-heartedness. The Bible says; “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”

We have a tendency to want the Word of G-d to fit into our lives when our lives must be transformed by G-d. Through His Word,Jesus, He gives life to everything created, and His life brought light to everyone. In His Light it shines in the the darkness and the darkness can never ever extinguish it…“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.””

“Completely Satisfied”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

It’s kinda crazy how we make every excuse we can to hang on to that sin which leads to death. When Jesus sacrificed His life so that we could live the life G-d intended for us to live. The Bible says; “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬ ‭
I remember being a kid at Christmas ripping open a gift I wanted so badly, then putting it down unsatisfied and searching for another. That unsatisfied feeling is complete is Christ. There isn’t anything else greater for us to desire than G-d’s free gift of eternal life…“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.”

“It’s not what it looks like”

It’s hard to imagine that we really shouldn’t rely on what we see going on in our lives right at this moment. G-d sees our life in a way you can’t even imagine. He has a plan that is unfathomable to us. The Bible says; “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬
To many times we count ourselves short, measuring ourselves by human standards seeing only our reflection in the water, instead of the potential G-d has for our hearts…““You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

“Bright as Noon”

The very first song I learned to play on the guitar was as by John Denver “Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy”. Little did I know that that the “happiness” I had back then was going to lead me down a very dark path. The Bible says; “This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬
I stopped at many crossroads and eventually always seemed to stumble onto the wrong path, but little did I know that those paths were all pointing me into the direction of Jesus. G-d never gave up on me back there on the wrong path and that’s why I’ll never step off His path for my life today, it’s only His sunshine that can make us happy…“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
