I 100% shamelessly used accommodations in a networking event today and it actually helped. I wore a rose colored glasses and noise, deadening earplugs and while I’m still drained and exhausted from the experience the accomodations did help to mitigate some of the overwhelm.

I’ve been thinking a lot about why so many business owners feel constant strain even when nothing is “technically” wrong.

Revenue might be coming in.
Clients might be happy.
The business might even be growing.

And yet everything feels heavier than it should.

What I’ve seen over and over again is that this isn’t a motivation issue or a personal capacity issue.

It’s often the moment a business has outgrown its original design.

When decisions live in one person’s head, when processes rely on memory, and when roles were never clearly defined, the system quietly starts asking humans to compensate.

More vigilance.
More checking.
More holding things together with attention alone.

That strain is information.

I wrote about this more deeply today on Substack because I’m increasingly focused on diagnosing where systems transfer their instability onto the people inside them.

Nothing about the people needs to change.
The environment does.
