So Excited. On my birthday, I found out who received the Bob Holk Baseball Scholarship at Oregon State University. For those that don’t know, when he passed, his cousin started a baseball scholarship in his name. Each year we get notified of the recipient. On a whim, I thought I would reach out and message him. I hoped I would hear a response, but you just never know. I woke up today to a response and I couldn’t be happier. So excited to meet this sweet pitcher (since dad was also a pitcher) and root him and the rest of the Beavs on! — The bonus of this was this birthday marked the 10th birthday without dad. In 2012, my birthday landed on a Beaver Basketball 🏀 Game night. Dad wanted to go but knew it was my bday. I said go, have fun, I thought I have many birthdays to come, I’m 36, what’s one birthday. I don’t regret letting him go, he had a blast, I just hate knowing it was my last. I felt this simple sweet message was a way of dad saying happy birthday. ⚾️❤️⚾️❤️⚾️
