The CC Hitmen making us proud again! Here is the story of how the CC Hitmen took over the 2026 11U AA PG Astros Fest Regional World Series. Against the weather and the crowd, as the lone team from South Texas in the 11U AA division, the boys from Corpus had a target on their backs from the opening pitch. They weren't just playing against the teams on the other side of the diamond— they were playing against the rain and fans that wanted to see them fail. The boys didn’t let anything stop them as outscored their pool opponents 28 to 2! They combined elite, lockdown defense while putting on an absolute clinic at the plate. Every tournament is different and this one had a lot of unexpected things like playing through heavy rain, and having fans actively booing 11-year-old kids. These boys didn’t care because they were there to win, and didn’t let the pressure get into their heads. They took that momentum and kept it rolling by going 6-0 and winning the Championship with a 13-1 victory in walk-off fashion (run-rule style)!
Every tournament we play there’s never just one standout. We play as a team, and it’s awesome. Whether it’s at the plate with 46 hits and 41 RBI, while scoring 59 runs. Or on the mound with just 14 runs allowed, and 30 K to just 12 BB. Or in the field with numerous plays to have their pitcher’s back. Every one of these boys contributed to our success over the 4 days. That’s a team effort and we can’t ask for much more. Great job boys! Keep the hardware coming!

Royce did it at the plate and on the mound.

Bash was on FIRE on the mound!
-7 IP, 8 K, 1 BB, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER
Overall we had outstanding pitching:
Xavier Bazaldua: 5.1 IP, 5 K, 2 H, 1 ER
Rey Garza: 3.2 IP, 7 K
Dylan Tagle: 2.0 IP, 3 K, 0 H, 0 R

The Hitmen HIT this tournament, with everyone having at least 3 hits and 1 RBI, along with everyone scoring at least 3 runs. This tournament could not have gone better for our boys. We are so proud of them!
On top of ALL of that we showed up in the Skills Competition. Our team placed 2nd in the Around the Horn. Then we had Aalias (Jay) Gonzales win the Flame Thrower Award by throwing 69 mph! Jay showed that arm strength by throwing out a couple runners from the catcher’s position.
But this week wasn’t just about baseball. This trip was about having fun and hanging out with friends. We enjoyed our time in the Houston area all week. We went to the Astros-Tigers game where the boys ran the bases and met some of the Shooting Stars. We even spent a night at Home Run Dugout in Katy.
The Championship was won on Father’s Day, making it special for every father and son. It was a great week no matter how you look at it!
