CC Hitmen vs the cold this weekend. Hitmen won this round. It was chilly, but these boys didn’t care. Our boys traveled down to McAllen, TX and came back with a Championship! They started hot in the Championship and beat Texas Made 10-6 to take home some rings. It was a big one too because they earned their way into the South Coast Spring Super Series with this Championship. We were down a couple players due to illness and a family emergency, which was only motivation for the boys to win it for them. We had some help to make it all work too, so shout out to Bash Ruedo, Jio Pena and Ezra Franco for making the trip and helping the CC Hitmen come home as Champions.
This weekend was an absolute team effort. From the parents to the players, everyone made this work despite the weather and everything that goes into traveling and doing what we do. No one person can do it all. We hit triples, we bunted for hits, we executed run-downs, made plays all over the field. That’s a team win! Congratulations on another Championship CC Hitmen!
Special recognition for a few players—
Player of the Game:
Bash Ruedo- great pitching: 4 IP, 3 K, 1 R
That’s winning pitching! Way to go Bash!
Player of the Championship Game:
Rey Garza- Rey did it all in the Championship game. Pitched the whole game (4 IP, 1 K, 2 BB), and helped himself with a big time hit and 2 RBI.
Nice job Rey!
Tournament MVP:
Jay Gonzales- what didn’t Jay do this weekend?? He pitched (2 IP, 2 K, 1 BB, 1 R). He hit (.667 BA, 2B, 2 RBI). He stole & scored (3 R, 3 SB). Oh, and he catches too (3 runners caught stealing and 1 picked off).
Jay ABSOLUTELY earned Tournament MVP. Way to go Jay! Keep it up!
This is how to start the 2026 Hitmen season! Let’s do it again in a couple weeks 💪⚾
