With the MS State Championship behind us, we now look forward to the USA Wrestling 16U Folkstyle Nationals in Des Moines, IA on March 12-15. In 25 days, KJ Edgeston will make his debut on the national circuit as he seeks to become Corinth’s first All-American in Wrestling.
Just a little bit about KJ. First, he is a competitor. The kid is phased by very little and loves to go out and get after it. Second, he is dedicated. KJ is the only wrestler this season to have a 100% attendance for practice and competitions. Third, if you didn’t know it, he can WRESTLE! KJ finished his freshman season with a 24-11 record and a 7th place finish at the State Championship at 165lbs. Being only 15 years old, KJ competed against some of the toughest wrestlers that MS has to offer and did so with class and grit. Finally, KJ is just a great kid. It is hard not to root for his success.
Here is where you come in. To make this trip a success, we would love to support KJ by sponsoring him to get there. For us to make the trip, we will end up spending roughly $1000. Through generous businesses and individuals, we already have about half pledged. Please consider joining in on this young man’s journey as he seeks to push himself to be the very best he can be!
Cost breakdown: Hotels ($500), membership fees and registrations ($250), gear, transportation, and food ($250). All donations can be made out to the Corinth Mat Club (memo: NATIONALS) or sent on Venmo (). Please reach out should you have any questions and share this information to anyone you think would be interested in joining KJ for this amazing opportunity!
