Went to Basswood Lake in the BWCA this weekend with Melody and Bentley. It was my 40th consecutive year of fishing on Basswood and where I began guiding 37 years ago. We caught over 100 Bluegills in 2 hours ranging from little ones to 10 inches. We also boated over 50 walleyes and bass with a couple northern pike thrown in.

Out fishing with the family and the dog today. 4 1/2 hours of fishing and 31 Smallmouth and Walleyes combined.

Fished on Lake Vermilion last week for the Minnesota Opener. It was tough fishing with the cold and wind (40 mph gusts one day), but we managed to catch a few nice walleyes and pike. We also were able to catch enough for a couple fish dinners!
