Run far. Lift heavy.
3 of my go to strength movements that helped me hit my 12-mile PR at a 7:36 pace.
1. Zercher squats legs and core working together. Building strength to produce force and hold my posture when I’m tired and still have miles to go.
2. Reverse lunges mixed with split squats building each leg individually. Stronger quads and glutes help support the knees and handle the load we put on them with every stride.
3. Bulgarian split squats everyone’s favorite ( I like single arm) these will humble you 😂 Building strength and stability and balance through the hips and legs while working on differences between sides. ( MAJOR)
The miles build the engine. The strength work helps me put it to use.
