WHY BUY THE WEANLING? THINK OF IT AS AN INVESTMENT.
We hear it all the time: “$4,500 is a lot of money for a baby.” (All while there are other weanlings out there starting at $10k)
And we understand that.
But look at it another way…
You invest $4,500 today in a well-bred, quality weanling. That horse could potentially be your partner for the next 20+ years.
That’s not just buying a horse. That’s buying years of memories, miles, shows, trail rides, cattle worked, lessons learned, and hopefully a horse that becomes part of your family.
Buying them young also gives you something you can't put a price on; you get to build them YOUR way. YOU can put that first ride on them; you can add the buttons.
You know their history. You know how they've been handled. You know what they've been fed. You know what they've been exposed to. You get to build that trust and foundation before a saddle ever touches their back.
And here's another thing to consider…
That same prospect at 3 or 4 years old, after someone has invested years of feed, care, training, and time into them, isn't going to have the same price tag.
Buying quality early can be one of the most affordable ways to get the caliber of horse you really want.
At K&R Performance Horses, we also offer payment plans on our weanlings. Put a down payment on your baby and make payments until weaning. Instead of coming up with the entire purchase price at once, you can spread that investment out while your future prospect is still growing beside mama. We have one available currently for a payment plan; the rest are ready to go!
We breed for brains, athletic ability, cow sense, good bone, and horses that are built to WORK. We want to raise the kind you'll be proud to own years from now.
So when you see $4,500 for a weanling, don't just think about what you're spending today.
Think about what you're getting for tomorrow.
Buy them young. Grow together. Build them your way. And enjoy the ride for years to come.
