Meanwhile, Don Kelly chose to pitch, maybe his worst negative side reliever in the seventh last night. Then they were down six. And it didn’t matter. It wasn’t a throw away game. None of these are.
The Pittsburgh Pirates just had to beat the worst team in baseball, and they would’ve jumped two teams last night.
The worst team in the national league helped you out beating the Cardinals, and their games mean nothing.
Don Kelly is playing this for a job next year, that he never deserved this year. By no means is the next great manager going to come and want to coach the Pirates. But to be that damn stupid in that situation is just mind boggling. To think he deserves the team next year is wild.
You can hire LITERALLY anyone else. And they couldn’t be worse…
