TIGERS INJURY REPORT: DUSTIN REUTER EXITS CAMP EARLY TODAY AFTER INJURY SUFFERD WHLE CATCHING BULLPEN

Tiger super star catcher Dustin Reuter had to exit winter camp early today after being hit in the head by a pitch while catching a bullpen.

Coach Halk said he feels terrible for his Hall of fame catcher, but can report Dustin is doing well.

"It got him pretty flush," Halk said. "But Dustin said "meh" just now, when asked how he's doing. Its looks like for sure a concussion. He does so much for us and i hate seeing him get beat up like he does. I just hope he knows how much we appreciate him."

Halk went on to say that Reuter is headed to the injured list, but for now is just happy to here he's doing good.
"It was scary," Halk added. "At that moment you're just hoping and praying that he's all right, that he gets up. And he did. I was so happy to see that! We are shutting him down for sure for one week, possibly two weeks."

This is Dustin's second trip to the Injured list in the past 6 months. Last August, Reuter took a pitch off his shoulder and had to go to the hospital and missed a week last season. That was also a scary injury to there super star!

"Dustin is a true warrior!" Halk closed with. "He will take any pain for the team. Definitely want to pray for him and a quick recovery. That's the last thing you want to see, no matter the situation, no matter the team, no matter anything. I feel really bad about it. I'll definitely be looking to see how he's doing and will keep you all updated on his status,

RIP Pirates 2019-2023

We have pilliaged the Central Ohio Mens Baseball League for the last time.

We are merging with the Blue Jays as has been reported. They dont have a fb page as of now.

Several players have gone to the Ohio Phillies and Westerville Expos as well.

In 5 full seasons, the Pirates went 58-47 (.552). 58 wins is tied for 18th best all time. Our best regular season was year 2, 2020, finishing with a record of 15-6, 2nd in the AL, under the leadership of Brady Balsimo. Our best postseason finish was 2nd in 2022, when we went on a playoff run to the finals.

Thomas Joyce will finish with the best single season at the plate in franchise history when he averaged .604 in 2019 with 32 hits. Nick Tiell also is tied with Joyce for the season hit total record at 32 in 2021 (he hit .500 that year).

DEAN HANSEN SLAMS WAY TO HALL OF FAME

Over the weekend, Dean Hansen got the long awaited call from Central Ohio Mens Baseball League President Charles McCroskey and is now a bona fide Sunday League Hall of Famer!

Hansen admittedly will be mostly remembered as a member of the Columbus Barracudas, but we felt that if anyone was going to brag on “Mean Dean,” it might as well be us.

Dean Hansen’s future in the league is still in doubt, as possible retirement talk has been heard to come from his mouth as recently as Saturday morning. “Getting in [to the hall of fame] sure makes it easier to hang it up!” joked Hansen. We’ll find out soon enough if he will make good on that or not.

But even if he does hang it up, Hansen has put together a legendary, 11 season career as one of the greatest power hitters of all time:

👉🏼Lifetime Batting Average of .415 (T-13th all time)
👉🏼 Lifetime Slugging % of .633 (T-16th all time)
👉🏼2 Time League HR Leader (2022 and 2015)

But in addition to being an excellent ballplayer, Dean is one of the nicest guys in the league. You wouldn’t get that impression after a strikeout or mis-hitting a fastball down the middle, but Dean is a big teddy bear at heart. Dont let the South Dakotan’s 6’4” lumberjack stature fool you…unless you are a baseball on a sixty foot six inch journey to the barrel of a Hansen daddy hack.

We are so thankful that Dean chose to play for the Pirates in 2023 and wish him all the best in baseball and in life!

The Pirates fell to the Blazers 4-3 in another 11 inning marathon. The loss eliminates the bucs from the playoffs.

.chrysler went 10 innings on the mound, allowing 3 earned, and striking out 18. He also scored twice and recorded 2 hits.

also each recorded singles, but the offense could not muster any momentum against Blazers Ace Jeff Golding, who went 9 innings.

The heroes of the day for the blazers were Josh Evans, who gave the Blazers a 3-2 lead with his 3 run HR in the 3rd, and manager Dustin Cox, who walked his team off in the 11th.

This Blazers Pirates series was one of the most intense pitching duels in league history between 2 individual players, Jacob Chrysler and Jeff Golding. But despite throwing a combined 38 innings with 56 strikeouts, neither Chrysler nor Golding recorded a win in the best of 3 series. Golding allowed 2 earned runs in his 18 innings, and Chrysler, 4 runs in 20 innings.
