This morning I absolutely did NOT want to get up and work out. I wanted to stay in my nice, cozy bed.
But I also want my knee to get better so that I can do things like climb a mountain and play sports; and I know that I need to consistently do my rehab exercises in order for it to continue to heal (and I haven't done them for a couple days). Plus, I almost always feel better after I get active.
There are times when resting and recovering truly are the best things I can do to reach my goals (which, as an athlete who was rarely taught this, is something I'm working on recognizing and have gotten SO much better at!)... But deep down I knew this was not one of those times 🥴 unfortunately. 🥴
So, if you don't feel like working out today (or doing whatever the thing is that you know will move you towards your goals)...
1 You're not alone
2 You can do it (you don't have to FEEL motivated or confident to take action... just freaking do it)
3 You'll thank yourself later
4 Chances are you'll actually feel better about yourself when you do it (if nothing else, you'll be building evidence that you're dedicated and disciplined and that you're the kind of person who shows up for herself and for her goals).
Work hard, play hard my friends! Go kick butt today! 😊
