An unforgettable season.
Joining a new league, we weren’t sure how the season was going to go. But we couldn’t have asked for a better result. We may not have won a national championship, but we scored bangers, made traditions, adopted pets, cried together, laughed together, tacked together, carved pumpkins, and made memories none of us will ever forget. We had a stellar record this season, winning our league and the region. But more than that, each person grew so much as a player and a teammate, and each person proved integral to this team.
To our President, Audrey Swaine. The legacy you will leave on this team is immeasureable. Your mission has always been to make us the best we could be and you have always put this team before everything else in your life. Because of you, we joined a new league, pushed ourselves to be the best we could possibly be, and not only were met with incredible success but immense passion and love for this team and the game. Your leadership was the glue of our team, and as Drot said, each of us will have an Audrey sized hole in our hearts next season.
To Lily and Kelly, you have put so much time, energy, and love into this team. I can’t imagine not walking to practice with Zehner and calling her triple cheek, and I don’t even want to think of a game where Kelly isn’t saucing people up and ripping a maradona.
To Katie and Sam, thank you for your unwavering dedication to the team. Despite being injured, you two showed up everyday with smiles, reading to feed and s**g balls, work the livestream, and cheer us on. We love you both so much.
Finally, thank you to everyone who supported our team this season. The parents, sponsors, and anybody else who followed along on our journey.
