Weston has been trying so hard to get his first win in the very competitive rookie class! This is his first year in the class since he is 8 years old and this class has 8-12 years old. We were both pretty emotional 🥹 with his win! 🥇

Back at it today after a late night and boy was it hot! Scarlett and Weston dominated with serious speed today and both came home with hardware 🏆

We still struggled with Lucy’s kart today. We were so proud of her for not giving up!

SuperComp races 9 & 10

Saturday night under the lights and the competitive rookie class had 17 karts! The Lauer kids had a great night of racing! We had the awesome Carter Riddle Racing helping us out and it was much needed!

Wes and Scarlett had some amazing speed last night! They ended both races on the podium!

Lucy’s kart was struggling all day. We thought we found the issue by switching carbs and changing the fuel filter. But at the end of the night we found a crack on her frame. She’s looking for redemption today at the Ignite races!

SuperComp races 7 & 8

Had a 3 hour rain delay and then it got HOT 🥵 Both races had some sibling bumping and some good passing for positions. Race 8 Wes got spun around and stuck on the curb, which put him in the back of the pack….he’s ready for redemption on the next race! Lucy had a great day today, she loves the sticky tires!

The Lauer kids definitely had great speed on Sunday! We are very proud of how hard they have worked to improve.

Race 5
Scarlett had a tough break in this race. She was running 2nd and had a fast kart. A lap kart hit her in the last turn and spun her out. She was able to get going again but 3 karts were able to pass while this happened. This moved Lucy up to the 3rd place position and Wes up to 4th with Scarlett in 5th.

Race 6
Wes started in 3rd because he was putting down some fast lap times! Wes had a great start and had a train of fast karts behind him waiting to pass. A couple issues with passing lap karts allowed some passes to be made.

We are ready to race at Gateway on Saturday and Sunday! What’s your pre-race checklist that doesn’t involve the kart?

1. Snacks and cooler!
2. Discussed the updated rulebook as a family at dinner
3. Charging ALL. THE. THINGS. Mychrons, transponders, and Go Pros.
