It’s the space where your day begins and ends. And yet, it’s often the place that quietly collects clutter, laundry piles, and “I’ll deal with it later” items.

Pantry + laundry room refresh 🙌

One of the biggest shifts we made in this space? Separating zones so each area can function the way it’s meant to.

The pantry is now just that: food, snacks, and kitchen overflow.
The laundry room is where all cleaning and laundry supplies live.

It sounds simple, but this is where most spaces start to feel chaotic… when everything ends up everywhere.

By creating clear “homes”:
• The pantry is easier to maintain
• The laundry room is more efficient
• And everyone knows where things go (and where they don’t)

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of guest speaking on shared spaces and how to actually make them work in real life.

Because the truth is… life happens. Things pile up. Systems fall apart. And suddenly that “shared” space feels anything but manageable.

But here’s what I always come back to: once the right systems are in place (with a little help from the Decluttered team 😉), everything starts to feel lighter. Not perfect, but better. And better is what makes it sustainable.

Hi, I’m Kiera, founder of Decluttered and a Certified Professional Organizer.

As I turn 50 (I cannot believe it), it feels like the right time to reintroduce myself and the work we do.

Like many, I am part of the sandwiched generation, balancing a lot of life transitions at once. Having experienced the loss of a parent while still raising my three kids, I understand how meaningful and sometimes overwhelming our homes and belongings can be. That perspective shapes how I approach this work, with care, respect, and an understanding that organization is not just about things, it is about people and their lives.

If you have been following along or just found us, welcome. I try to answer as many questions as I can through our website and content so you can learn, get ideas, and feel more confident getting started.
