Another wild weekend in the books! The girls fought through some adversity this weekend, and I couldn't be more proud of them. We missed Lilly and London, dearly. Tilly is back, and I couldn't be more excited about seeing her back out there! Bella is starting to hit her stride again, and I'm so proud of her effort and tenacity. Charli stepped up and put on a solid performance at CB all weekend. She rose to the call and took on the pressure! Ava was a rockstar all weekend in defense! There were moments when she wanted to come out, but I pushed her to her max. Zoey took a knock to the face, made me clean her snooty, bloody nose, and was back on the pitch within minutes. She gets that from her mom! Mad Dawg got yelled at Saturday night because I didn't feel like she was giving it her all; so she turns up Sunday and gives her best performances of the year! Lucina and Bella ran circles around the midfield, and one day we are going to have to put a step counter on them, because I'm pretty sure they put in miles of work. Amira got better and better as the weekend went on; she was such a weapon on the outside, and I'm so proud of how much she has developed. Grace played four different positions this weekend, and she excelled at all of them. She was constantly pumping up her teammates! Maddie played with so much grit; running into defenders, throwing her body into shots, just a force of nature on the field. Norah started off slow, but once I told her how much I believed in her, she made some brilliant passes and was a rock on defense. Amy was lock down at right back and right mid, providing the team with quality minutes and giving the team a spark! Finally, Claire scored her first goal, and her teammates all ran to her to celebrate her moment! She should have had three more, but it's only a matter of time!
It was a wacky weekend, but hey, "We are the Champions!"
