Obituary for James "Jim" Davis:
James “Jim” Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and musician, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in Harriman, Tennessee, Jim was the eldest of three boys. He attended Carson Newman College, where he completed his studies before embarking on a lifelong career in education.
Jim devoted 37 years to teaching, shaping countless young minds with his wisdom, compassion, and integrity. His impact extended beyond the classroom—students remember him not only as an educator but as a mentor and coach who inspired them to reach their full potential.
A gifted pianist and singer, Jim’s music brought joy to family, friends, and his community. Whether performing for family, friends, or his community, his talent was matched only by his humility.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Telisha; his cherished grandsons, Aiden and Declan; his brothers, John (Dawne) and Joe (Melanie); and many wonderful nieces and nephews. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the lessons he imparted.
Jim Davis will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, generous spirit, immeasurable legacy, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
The family will receive friends from 1:00–3:00 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home to celebrate Jim’s life. As Jim was a devoted University of Tennessee fan, the family requests that everyone wear orange for Jim’s visitation.
