Had a great time last night coaching with . Thanks for having me out!
I am the first player from my alma mater to have played in a U.S. domestic professional rugby setting, and one of very few from Ohio to do so. The fact that I get to come back home and give back to my rugby community and be a role model for HS rugby players is a dream come true for me. Little things like this reminds me of my WHY.
Just a few years ago I was where they were, but didnt have someone to look up to. Someone from my home that has been able to navigate the tricky pathway of rugby in america from a very young age. So I put my nose to the grindstone and paved the way with helping guide me in the right directions and connecting me to the right people. But my work ethic, complete dedication and never give up attitude lead me to the path I am on. I have been told I won't amount to anything, wouldn't do much with my career, that I have no future. I been cut from multiple teams that I gave everything in the gas tank to be on, even this very year. But I never let that determine what or who I was going to be. If anything, it pushes me to chase my goals even harder, to prove those people wrong. And the best part is, I'm just getting started😈. This is only step 1.
When you dream big and do absolutely everything possible to get there, people notice that. It's inspiring. People will be more likely to stick their neck out for you. People will want to help you when they see how much you're trying to help yourself. I wanted to be the person kids could look up to from my hometown... and I'm proud to say I am on the path to being that person!
What is your WHY? Once you figure out WHAT you want to do, you must then figure out WHY you want to do it. That will push you farther than anything will. Use your WHY to continuously fuel the fire in the chase of your dream, and one day with patience, dedication, & work ethic, you will arrive.
