Lincoln in Orange, with another win!
Great sportsmanship.
This post was taken way out of context… sometimes wrestling frustration shows on the mat. That is okay, especially for young athletes. It is an emotional sport. We removed the video, which was spotlighting a young athlete’s response to another’s frustration.
Comments from a mother:
Just gonna pop in here as the mom of the CHILD you guys are all commenting on. First he wasn’t slamming Lincolns head into the mat he was trying to get his arm free they clip started at a bad moment as Lincolns dad has explained. Secondly this is the OAC State tournament that these kids work for literally the entire year so emotions run strong. My son could have and should have handled himself better on the mats this year as he simply didn’t wrestle his best and let his emotions take over. Wrestling is a sport you are passionate about if you are wrestling as this level. You are seeing the frustration with himself and some other circumstances coming out. As his parents we have addressed said behavior because he knows better. Third there have been many times that roles have been flipped and he is a very humble winner. He will be the very first person to help an opponent up from the mat and give someone a hug and positive words to cheer them up and encourage them. So please save your comments about a 10 year old child and keep the to yourself. How about we keep the comments about Lincoln’s victory as he deserves the credit and not criticism on the opposite who had a tough loss and yes could have done better.
