Mauricio Pochettino said that ‘American sports reward losers’ when asked about the style of play in top European nations vs. in the U.S. 😯🇺🇸

QUESTION: “We know how England, France, Spain play… Players from countries with a strong tradition have a recognizable style. What is the style of the US team? What kind of football do the Americans want to play?”

ANSWER: “Their culture is playful. They want to play. We told them, “Guys, playing soccer is one thing, competing is another.” They’re two completely different sports. They grow up in a culture of playing. Why? If you start in MLS and you haven’t won a game in three months and you’re at the bottom, what’s the consequence if there’s no promotion or relegation, no international competition? American sports reward losers! But soccer is different: if you reward those who don’t win… If you don’t have goals, you don’t fight. If I lose, what happens? Nothing. They just fire the coach. Also, the American player is disciplined. But with a sense of complacency that isn’t good in soccer. It took us a year and a half to change that mentality.”

Technical, tactical, awareness, agility, skillset building, truly an amazing experience working with so many families, coaches, game day, and being involved in the sport generally. An academy, a club, built for all students of all levels and not just a few competitive. This upcoming season starting in August, we will be starting our competitive groups playing other academies in the area with the same mentality academies from Haines city, Wintergarden, Clermont, and other localized Lake County and Polk County academies. Not only will the competitive players be playing one another but also the recreational groups as well. No student left behind, no child left out, whether they play for fun, or workout, we have their fun and interest in mind. Developmental starts with engagement and fun around the sport. We have Haitian coach coaches, Portuguese coaches, Dominican coaches, Colombian coaches, English coaches, and firstly, American coaches. A club built around the foundation of Soccer,, for the families in our area.

Some of our teams are working on the technical play using game boards, etc. Real development grows mentality, skill sets, tactical awareness, and understanding of the game on multiple levels. We watch, we play, we learn, we play. Adopting the U.S. Soccer mentality of play practice play will also incorporating the technical side of South American and European development. A combination of all three systems helps a student navigate football/soccer across the world. Join as the club embarks on in its forth season in August and celebrates its 1 year anniversary in September!!!!! Thank you lake county, Groveland, Clermont, soccer enthusiasts, and Spartans!

Finishing June to take July off!!! August we start a 3+ day academy! We doing this, building community, building family, building structure within the lake county area. No a city 45 mins away, not a club run by coastal owners, real families, real community, real qualifications, coaches with experience in national, college, and European soccer. See you soon Spartans!!! Let’s finish this season strong!!!
