I haven’t posted on here in a while, but I wanted to talk g***’s and how I think it gets misunderstood a lot! (I have to be very careful or I will get shadow banned again) 🙄
G***’s have gotten this reputation as something only for “overweight” people. As I have done my own research and being on a GLP1 myself for over a year now (microdosing) I see it VERY differently.
G*** is something your body naturally produces. It plays a huge role in insulin function, blood sugar regulation, and overall metabolic balance. And honestly a lot of us are not functioning efficiently in those areas.
First and foremost I had lab work done. My thyroid was barely functioning, and my insulin wasn’t doing what it should. I was the person weighing every gram of food, skipping events to never miss a workout, building muscle easily but unable to lose even 5 pounds no matter how disciplined I was. I did this for years, it was mentally exhausting to the point it was becoming a problem. That is not normal. When I started on a low dose and gradually increased, the first thing I lost was water weight, which was exactly what my body had been holding onto. Since my body is finally responding the way it’s supposed to my metabolism is faster and I’m no longer on thyroid medication.
And to the “it’s cheating” comments I don’t think people understand what it’s like to do everything right and still feel stuck. Not everyone needs this but I do think more people could benefit from understanding it.
