Our boys did it! Tournament Champions at the GOB Empire Strikes Out tourney today in Apopka!

After 2 rained out games yesterday, our kids rallied back in 3 games today to take 3 W’s and win it all!

I heard a coach say something this weekend that was pretty blunt…

“Average effort shows up immediately.”

Not bad effort.

Not quitting.

Just… average.

And he said that’s the problem. Because most kids think:

“I’m working hard”

But what coaches see is:

Jogging instead of sprinting

Casual between innings

Locked in sometimes… not all the time

And he said: “At this level, average doesn’t stand out… it blends in.”

That’s where a lot of kids get lost. Not because they’re bad… but because they look like everyone else.

And when a coach is watching 20–30 players in a day…that’s the fastest way to get overlooked.

So real question:

If a coach watched your kid for one game…would their effort stand out…or blend in?
