Aarini performing Vrindavani Venu dance, a timeless Marathi composition by the 15th-century poet Sant Bhanudas to celebrate the festive season. This abhang beautifully captures the enchanting power of Krishna’s bamboo flute. Aarini (11 year old) takes online classes from Houston. Thank you to the volunteers at the Sri Aishwarya Srinivasa Perumal temple for this opportunity.

The poet describes how, when Krishna plays his flute in Vrindavan gardens, the entire world seems to pause and listen, the peacocks begin to dance, the birds and animals become peaceful, the Yamuna appears to become still, and even the natural world is captivated by the divine music.

What makes this composition especially beautiful is its message that Krishna’s music transcends all differences. Animals that would normally be enemies become peaceful, nature comes alive, and everyone is united in the joy of Krishna’s divine melody.

Through lyrical movement, expressive storytelling, and graceful dance, Aarini brings this enchanting scene of Vrindavan to life, portraying the magic of Krishna’s flute.

Inspiring image as Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, pays homage on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day. President Droupadi Murmu is India’s 15th President and the first tribal woman to hold the office. She was born in 1958 and became the president in 2022 at the age of 64. She was the first woman from her village to receive college education, went on to serve as a teacher, legislator and Governor, and President of India. At 68, her story is a beautiful reminder that leadership has no single age, background or pathway. Her life reflects the power of education, perseverance, and public service.

The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples was established by the United Nations in 1994 to raise awareness of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, cultures, languages, lands and contributions around the world. Congrats to Sasha, age 10, on her wonderful performance as Mowgli in the children’s musical theater production of The Jungle Book. Her mom, Dr. Priya, proudly shared that Sasha memorized approximately 144 lines, followed all her cues, and delivered a confident performance with remarkable focus and no stage fear.
Learning and performing dance can help build self-confidence, experience joy, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and find meaningful ways to our young artists express themselves.
