With the high temps being predicted for this week, it is likely that football practice will need to be pushed back to avoid the hottest part of the day. That means no fancy calendar this week- flexibility is the word of the week.

This Friday night, at the end of the 1st quarter, we will be recognizing members of R.L. Davisson's family as we re-dedicate our home as Davisson Field. Mr. Davisson served Southeastern for over 30 years as a teacher, coach and athletic director. After he retired as AD in 1977, the original field in Richmond Dale; a field and track that he built by himself, was named in his honor. The name was brought to the new field on Lancaster Road a few years after the school was built, but missing was a large Davisson Field sign like the one on the back of the old press box. Thanks to a gift on behalf of the SE Class of 1977, a new sign has been added to the scoreboard properly and proudly declares that R.L. Davisson Field is the home of the Panthers!

The junior high football game scheduled for this evening at Paint Valley has been canceled due to the Bearcats not having enough players. Our junior high team will now open their season on Thursday September 3rd at home against Piketon.

Landyn Smith set a new school record for receiving yards in a game with 203 yards on 4 catches. The old record was 190 yards held by Brian Netter ( 2001 v. Piketon)

Brayden Burns tied the school record for interceptions in a game last night with 3 picks. He now shares the record with Greg Schrader who got 3 in a game in 1998.
