The ink is dry. The Lizard's Liquid Lounge baton is being passed to Evan Carroll who is a Chicago Firefighter and a musician in a punk rock band. How perfect is that? He is partnered with Chicago Bar Veteran Tony Griffin . Tony owns Harrigans Halsted and owned Ginger's Ale House. Another Dublin native.
They want to continue with regular live music and karaoke. I'll be making the introductions to Lizard's current bands so that they can continue playing, mixed with Evan's own Chicago band collection. We for one, are so excited to being customers at the bar for this new begining.
Some things will remain the same.
Juan the goat and Gene Simmons will continue to rule the roost.
Our silver fox Jeff Murray is returning, with a suntan, from his Florida sabbatical to his old schedule. He will be working Wednesday afternoons, and Friday and Saturday nights.
Bonnie, is back Wednesday nights for Darts.
The Dart league is returning. Paul Tobin is still running it.
Evan and his new crew will be working the other shifts. Be sure to give them all a very warm welcome.
Their goal is to keep the spirit of Lizard's alive while giving it a shot of new and youthful adrenaline. This is perfect, and exactly what we had hoped for to continue the Lizard's legacy.
Liz and Lizard's Liquid Lounge are being put out to pasture. "Lizzie's Last Call", formerly known as Lizard's Liquid Lounge, and Evan and Tony are running the next leg of the race.
There will be a grand opening the weekend of October 1st. In the meantime. Lizard's will open Wednesdays, starting September 9th, for the new Fall Dart League
