We hope everyone had a fantastic summer and we’re excited to kick off another great season! As we look ahead, here are some important dates to have on your calendar. We’ll continue sharing additional details as we get closer to the start of the season.

📅 KEY DATES

🤼 Monday, August 31 — Season Registration Opens

💪 Wednesday, September 9 — Pre-Season Training Begins
September 9–October 29
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays | 7:00–8:30 p.m.
For returning wrestlers in 4th–8th grade.
👉 If you haven’t registered yet, please do! Our coaches are excited to get back on the mat with the kids!

🤼 Monday, November 2 — Regular Season Practice Begins

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Tuesday, November 10 — BWC Parent Meeting

🏆 Sunday, November 22 — Huck Exhibition | Batavia High School

🏆 Sunday, January 10 — Batavia Classic Tournament

💙 PARENT AGE-GROUP LIAISONS

One thing we’d love to do this year is make our club feel smaller, more personal, and more connected by having a parent liaison for each age group.

Liaisons would be a friendly point of connection for families — welcoming new families, helping share information, organizing occasional social opportunities, gathering parent feedback, and helping families get to know one another.

This is not intended to be a major time commitment or an administrative position. It’s simply about helping build community within each age group and giving families a familiar person they can turn to.

We’d love to have more parents and families involved in making BWC the best possible experience for our athletes!

Hello Batavia Wrestling Families,

We hope everyone is having a fantastic summer and is looking forward to all that lies ahead for Batavia Wrestling in the 2026–27 season.

We're thrilled to announce our new Head Technical Coach, Ino Garcia, whom many of you know through his tenure at Batavia High School and beyond. Highlights include:

3X IHSA State Placewinner

2024 Junior Freestyle State Champion

2024 Junior Freestyle State Champion

2024 Junior National Team Member

126 career high school wins (9th in BHS’ history)

Former wrestler at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse

Ino will be supported by a talented and tenured team of coaches dedicated to helping our wrestlers grow both on and off the mat, including:

Steve Zimmerman - Senior Coach Advisor

John Duraksi - Senior Coach Advisor

Our coaching staff shares a commitment to developing confident, disciplined, and resilient young athletes while continuing to build the positive, supportive culture that makes Batavia Wrestling special.
