Applications are open for 2022! Going on its second year 🎓

The Aim High, Dream Big Scholarship application is open and applications are due December 1st, 2021. Open to immigrant students or children of immigrants. There will be 4 $500 scholarships awarded.

Feel free to share, whether you know someone that may qualify or even if not, this can make a difference in some students school year for next semester.

First Zoom 💻 Thursday Full Body Strength workout completed!

I'll be having free workouts 💦 on Thursday and Saturday mornings; registration will be available through Eventbrite. Sign-ups will be up at the beginning of every week 🗓.

Whether 1, 10 or no one shows up, this will be a way to stay accountable and I'llbe doing the workout 🏋‍♀️. Show up for part of the workout or the whole thing. Don't feel intimidated, it's open to all!

We all have to start somewhere. The workouts will also be up on YouTube and I cam share the link to the zoom recording.

Have a great Thursday! Keep doing something for yourself, even if that is 1 thing a day ✴

With restrictions going up ⬆️ again - but really, if you were adhering to things before, things aren't changing much either way - we need to put ourselves and our health first.

Remember to make time for yourself
🟡 Set your boundaries 🛑
🟡 Don't just agree or say yes to everything because that's what you're used to
🟡 Make some time, even if it's 10 minutes ⏱, to go for a walk outside - that sunlight and fresh air make a huge difference
🟡 If you're having a 🍷🥃 drink, remember to stay water 💧 hydrated! (I'm working on this one even though I won't be having alcohol)
🟡 Meditate 🧘‍♀️ or sit for a couple of minutes to just breathe
🟡 Stop and look around, appreciate all that surrounds you and be thankful, yes on Thanksgiving but every day
🟡 Give yourself a compliment, be your hype man or woman

Health and fitness are not a one size fits all or one specific look 👁

Being fit doesn't necessarily mean that you have to have the rock hard abs and have the vascular veins showing.

I don't have the aesthetic of a 'fitness person', yet here I am. I am healthy. I get my bloodwork done and annual exam yearly to make sure that I continue on that path. I am fit - and maybe per the BMI (body mass index) and BF (body fat) scale, I'm not - those numbers don't define me.

We all fit on the sliding fitness scale and we should be supportive of each other and help each other to get stronger, to stay healthy, to live the life we want.

I'm here to help on that path. I can help you work towards the goals you have or want to achieve in that .

When I first started my fitness 💪 journey, my sole goal was to lose weight. I wanted to lose the college pounds.

Once I started, yes, weight started to come off but my goal and perspective changed. I felt better about myself. I actually felt more confident and that had nothing to do with my weight. It was through the hard work and what I loved doing.

This journey of fitness or weight-loss ⚖ sometimes takes a turn that we don't expect. But we take it a day at a time.

Trying to find that balance of staying active and managing our lives. And also of getting stronger throughout. You can do this!

Start small and build on those little steps. You can't jump into the deep end 🏊‍♀️ and expect to tread water without learning how to swim first right?

Remember, it's little goals that add up to help you reach what may seem unattainable ⭐
