Still on a high from this unforgettable experience 💙💛

I had the incredible honor of being the Keynote Speaker at Talcott’s Graduation—a dual language school that truly left a mark on my heart.

This wasn’t like any graduation I’ve ever attended. The students were celebrated not just for their academic success, but for their culture, talents, and identity. From singing, dancing, and even playing instruments—it was powerful to witness them shine in every way.

What touched me most was the school environment. From the janitor to the principal, every single staff member showed how much they genuinely care about these kids. Talcott isn’t just a school, it’s a family.

To the graduates, I reminded them:
📜 No one can ever take away that piece of paper we call a diploma.
💪 In many rooms, you will be the first and the only—and instead of fearing that, welcome it. You belong there.

This experience reminded me why I do what I do—and why I want to do it more.

Are you married—and have you gotten financially naked with your spouse?

Two weeks ago, I coached a couple where one spouse deeply valued generational wealth and legacy, while the other valued pleasure and living in the now.

Neither of them was wrong—but without understanding each other's values, there was tension, stress, and miscommunication around money.

Getting financially naked means laying it all out—your debt, income, goals, habits, and money mindset. It’s about full transparency. Knowing where you are financially and where you both want to go.

As a Financial Coach, I help couples do exactly that. Because when you don’t know what you value—and what your spouse values—it creates confusion and conflict. But when you start with honest conversations and dream together, everything shifts.

Being rich or wealthy is really how you define it:
For some, it's money and assets.
For others, it's freedom, pleasure, or quality time.
For many, it's legacy and purpose.

This is what being wealthy looks like to me: living with intention and unity.

I had the honor of teaching financial literacy to the incredible HFS Chicago Scholars and their families. I spoke with future college students about earning a debt-free degree, preparing financially for college, and guided parents—especially our Spanish-speaking families—on saving and budgeting strategies that can set their children up for success. Every student and family should have access to this kind of education—understanding money early truly shifts the trajectory of their future.

As a Financial Wellness Trainer, Speaker, and Author—and a former scholarship judge—I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when families understand the ins and outs of financial aid, student loans, and scholarships. I also gave real insights into what scholarship judges look for in applications—information I wish every student had before submitting theirs.

The 2024 State of Hispanic Homeownership Report is out! 📢🏡

The latest data from NAHREP reveals key trends in Hispanic homeownership, showing both progress and challenges:

📈 Record Growth – Hispanic homeowners now total 9.8 million, the largest increase of any racial/ethnic group for the second consecutive year.

📉 Slight Dip in Homeownership Rate – Despite growth in homeowners, the overall rate declined to 49% due to rising home prices and high interest rates.

🧑‍💼 Young & Ready to Buy – With a median age of 31, Latinos represent a powerful force in the housing market. However, affordability remains a major hurdle.

🏡 Finding Solutions – Hispanic buyers are relocating to more affordable areas, co-borrowing, and leveraging local programs to make homeownership a reality.

Hispanic homeownership is on the rise, but we must continue advocating for affordable housing, better access to credit, and policies that expand housing supply.
