We started the Chicago Movement Collective (CMC) to provide a home for the community's incredible teaching artists, musicians, and soon-to-be performing artists. The Chicago dance community is famously supportive and this collective is a reflection of that love and care. No matter one's goals in dance, commercial, concert, or otherwise, CMC is committed to helping our entire community get there. C

lass Rates:

$16 single drop-in 1.5 hr class

$12 single drop-in 1 hr class

$10 professional rate

$8 virtual class with an option to pay $10 or $15 to help subsidize and support the Claire Bataille Legacy Program.

Join Kara Hunsinger for Int/Adv Contemporary on Wednesdays, 11:45am-1:15pm!

This class begins with a somatic warm up to awaken breath, sensation, and full-body awareness. We’ll transition into guided improvisation, using clear compositional tools to explore impulse, choice, and dynamic range.

We’ll finish with a phrase that serves as a flexible framework, inviting dancers to reshape and personalize the material through improvisational tools.

The focus is on strengthening confidence in decision-making and deepening trust in intuition—supporting each dancer in discovering and embodying their unique artistic voice.

Weekday classes for the next two weeks are at Definition Dance Academy. We are closed June 15th-19th, and beginning June 20th, ALL classes are at The Chicago Academy for the Arts.

Reimagine / Rediscover / Renew

This 3- day workshop will be a guided process of multiple Feldenkrais: Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons through verbal cues. The workshop will guide students to investigate new movement patterns through their own unique expedition of self-discovery through gentle, comfortable, and explorative movements through the intention of novelty. This 3-day process will facilitate a space to learn, connect, and exchange curiosity. Get ready to Reimagine / Rediscover / Renew!
