Plenty left to prove. Plenty more ahead. đź’Ş
The USGAA Finals in Boston last week gave us a rollercoaster of a weekend that saw the club proudly send two full squads for the second year in a row.
On the Saturday, our Junior A side saw off a tough Pittsburgh Pucas team in the semi-final, while our Intermediate squad edged a dogged Na Tóraidhe of Philadelphia side by a point in a match for the ages to book both Cusack’s teams a place in Sunday’s USGAA Finals. Credit to both Pittsburg and Na Tóraidhe for some great battles.
On the Sunday, while we didn’t get the finish we wanted, both teams emptied the tank and represented the blue and yellow well. Congratulations to Denver Gaels and Fr. Tom Burke’s on two well-earned victories.
Fair play to fellow Chicago clubs James Joyce’s, Na Aisling Gaels, Erin’s Rovers, and St. Brigid’s on their USGAA titles, and hard luck to Padraig Pearse’s and St. Mary’s after strong runs – with the girls also reaching their Senior and Junior A camogie finals.
Thanks to the players, managers, selectors, sponsors, supporters, Chicago GAA, USGAA, and everyone who was behind us in Boston and throughout the year. Special thanks also to Naperville, St. Vincent’s, and Cuala Sarsfields for the competitive matches that helped sharpen us along the way.
There’s a lot to take from the weekend and even more to build on. Bigger plans already taking shape for 2027 🤫
