As the Girls State Hockey Tournament Director, I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s tournament such a success.
Events like this simply don’t happen without the incredible support of so many people, volunteers, coaches, managers, parents, officials, rink staff, sponsors, and community members who stepped in to help in ways both big and small. Your time, energy, and willingness to pitch in are what allowed this tournament to run smoothly and create such a special experience for our athletes.
Watching these teams compete this weekend was truly inspiring. The skill, teamwork, sportsmanship, and heart on the ice were incredible. My hope is that every player walked away with memories that will last a lifetime, no matter what the scoreboard said at the end of the games. That’s what this event is really about.
Girls hockey continues to grow, and seeing these athletes compete reminds us how powerful it is to support and empower women in sports. The future of girls hockey is bright, and I’m already excited for what next year’s tournament will bring.
To our seniors, we are so proud of you. Thank you for the leadership, dedication, and passion you brought to the game and to the younger players looking up to you. We wish you the very best in the next chapter of your lives, and we hope you’ll come back from time to time to visit, share your experiences, and continue to inspire the next generation of players.
No matter where life takes each of these girls, one thing will always remain true: hockey will always be your family. 🏒
Thank you all again for making this tournament such a memorable one.
