American-Filipino Kun Tao Federation

American-Filipino Kun Tao Federation Train with an open mind and the heart of a lion. AFKT is an amalgamation of techniques from many different styles, with a core base of Filipino Kun Tao.

Some of the styles that have lent to the creation of the current AFKT are Karate, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Savate, Aikido, Western Boxing, Thai Boxing, Escrima, Kali, and Kickboxing. The fluid integration of techniques from all of these styles makes AFKT an effective combative art at any range, and provides many options to the practitioner. The AFKTF Founders Board consists of the following people:

~ Master Mel Hebert- 6th Dan AFKT- Realistic Training Concepts- Longest current practitioner of AFKTF/Rossi Kun Tao, One of Mr. Rossi’s 10 original students.

Back in March of this year Mr. Daniel Padin and Mr. Nathan LeBlanc achieved their next rank in American-Filipino Kun Tao! Mr. Padin was promoted to 4th degree Black Belt and Mr. LeBlanc to 3rd degree Black Belt. They represent the very best of AFKT; in technique, in tenacity, and in instructional ability. In the sport of competitive breaking they are among the top in the world and have achieved great things. Congratulations sirs!

Great training this past Wednesday at East Coast Training Systems in Middlebury. Very important to get AFKTF studios together to train and see different approaches. And always an informative experience to have GM Bergamo giving his insights. Congratulations to Mr Sid and Mr Surya Thapa on their promotion to their next Apprentice Black Belt rank. Well done boys!

SAVE THE DATE!

We are returning to Atlantic City May 25th with the ISKA North American Breaking Championships and USBA Atlantic City Breaking Championships. Part of NAFMA Nationals Martial Arts Championships (http://nafmanationals.com/) run by Master Jose Torres. This is a great event with competition in forms, sparring, weapons and breaking.

The ISKA North American will also be a qualifier for the World Championships in FL at the US Open held in July, and is open to Black Belt adults. In addition we will be running USBA power breaking divisions for all ages, ranks and genders.

Registration will open soon. Hope to see you there!
